Metra - 脱線事故 9/17

アムトラックではありませんが、アメリカから列車事故のニュースが入ってきています。
シカゴ近郊を走る Metra （メトラ）というコミュータートレインで一部路線ではアムトラックと並走しています。
この事故で死傷者が出ている模様。原因など詳しい情報はまだ分かっていませんが、写真を見る限り、横転はしていないようです。やはり日本よりもこういった事故が多いですね。とくに多いのが脱線と踏切事故。メンテナンスの問題なのでしょうか。。それとも他の要因があるのか。
最近、アメリカから入ってくるのは暗いニュースばかりです。。
