台風 Katrina の影響

日本でも10何年ぶりかに関東を直撃したりと台風が上陸してますが、いまアメリカ南部は大変なことになってるようです。
あちらは過去最大だとかで、CNNもずっと台風関連のニュースを流しています。
アメリカではハリケーンの名前に女性の名前が付きますが、今回は Katrina （カトリーナ）。人の名前を付けるのってどういなんだろ。。同じ名前の人はいい気しないと思うのですが。。
このハリケーンで、アムトラックにも影響が出ています。
直撃しているニューオリンズを通る3路線 City of New Orleans, Crescent, Sunset Limitedは運行区間を短縮しています。
City of New Orleans: シカゴ〜メンフィス間の運行（メンフィス〜ニューオリンズが運休）。
Crescent: ニューヨーク〜アトランタ間の運行（アトランタ〜ニューオリンズが運休）。
Sunset Limited: ロサンゼルス〜サンアントニオ間の運行（サンアントニオ〜ニューオリンズが運休）。
運休区間の代替輸送はないとのこと。ニューオリンズ周辺はバスも走れる状況ではないですね。
